Ronald J. Autenrieth was born in 1959 in Weingarten/Baden (Germany). After a pedagogic degree he worked mainly with recorder ensembles and also as choirmaster and church musician. The most important among his teachers were Jean Chenevoy, Johannes Baiker and Heinrich Hamm. As member of the programming board of the Gesellschaft für Neue Musik Bodensee-Oberschwabenhe took part in the organisation of contemporary music concerts. On these occasions he met celebrated composers such as John Cage and Helmut Lachenmann. Next to his elaborate works Ragamusic for organ that was premiered in Frankfurt or the Missa Brevis (choir and orchestra) he has also composed pieces designed for easy performance including so called “Spielmusiken”, music for amateur choir and pop music. Since 1991 Autenrieth has been living in Eberbach/Neckar. He teaches at an education centre and is active as composer and arranger for numerous publishers as well as choirmaster and instrumentalist. His work also includes projects with the young. |
