BRUNO BETTINELLI,
born in 1913 in Milan. He studied at the "G. Verdi" Conservatory of Milan
and later became the teacher of composition at that consevatory, a post he
maintained for many years. Among his students there are some of the
greatest Italian composers and musicians such as Riccardo Muti, Claudio
Abbado, Maurizio Pollini, Aldo Ceccato, and Riccardo Chailly.
He has written many symphonic, choral and chamber works, receiving numerous
prizes and awards at national and international competitions. Also noteable
is his activity as a music critic. Lately he has dedicated himself nearly
exclusively to composing religious and secular a cappella choral works. |
